Wales: learner travel measure - to provide free transport to faith schools

Posted on 05/07/2008 by Sian

The Learners' Travel Measure is currently in its second stage in the Welsh Assembly, and the latest amendments propose to give children free transport to faith schools (over walking distance) but the committee has not backed similar proposals to strengthen the right to free travel to Welsh medium schools. A final vote on the Assembly's government's plans for school travel is expected in the Autumn.
