TfL reports increase in walking, cycling and use of public transport for the school run in London

With the introduction of free travel for young people and travel plan initiatives. TfL says that there are now 3.3 million fewer school run car journeys in the capital each year, compared to 2005.

Around a third of all journeys made between 08:00 and 09:00 on a school day in London are thought to be education related, and 35 per cent of school pupils in London travel to school by car.
