Switzerland supports safe school transport in rural areas of Latvia - August 2009

About 9,000 children in Latvia will be provided with safe school transport funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The Swiss contribution of about £9 million will provide more than 100 school buses to be used in 60 communities, providing school tranpsort in areas that would otherwise not be able to afford transport. The project is part of the country's contribution to the enlargement of the European Union.
