Swedish bus stop innovation being piloted in Scotland (April 2009)

A Swedish scheme where by children carrying transmitters, activate bus stop signs to warn other drivers that there are children nearby and to slow down, is being tested in Scotland, following lobbying by parents. ,The six-month trial in north east Scotland was announced as part of a range of measures by Scottish Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson at a meeting of the Scottish Parliament's Petitions Committee at Fraserburgh Academy last Monday.For more information on the Scottish pilot see: http://www.banffshire-journal.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/3969/New_trials_in_school_bus_safety.html
