The National Travel Survey results for Scotland have been published.  Young people in Scotland are travelling further each year, but making a similar number of trips suggesting that trips are getting longer since the mid 1990s.

The results also highlight the importance of the school journey with 29% of all children's trips being to and from education.

However, the journey to school continues to show falls in walking, and rising car use since the mid 1990s, but with bus use continuing to account for about 23% of school journeys.  The full results are available from: Scotland: NTS 2007/8
