Scotland: Consultation on the handling of rural school closures.

Posted on 02/05/2008 by Sian

One million people live in rural areas of Scotland, and the population is increasing in these areas - but aging.

The Scottish Executive is consulting on how to handle rural school closures and is seeking views on what should be taken into account. Hopefully the impact on school transport for local authorities, as well as the impact on school travel for pupils and parents! Consultation closes 19th September 2008.

The consultation document and online forms are available at: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2008/04/25131457/0
