October is walk to school month

The theme of this year's walk to school month, organised by Living Streets, is health - targetting the growing problem of childhood obesity - and entitled Power Up.

The UK's Walk to School Month is part of International Walk to School Month with children in countries all over the world taking part in events and activities throughout October. In 2007, 10 million children from 42 countries walked to school during Walk to School Month.
