North Yorkshire - bus escort indecently assaulted boy.
A man aged 70 employed as an escort on a bus transporting children to a special needs school pleaded guilty at Harrogate magistrates' court to indecently assaulting one pupil on three occasions between January 24th and February 21st, reports Yorkshire Post 2nd May 2008
North Yorkshire said they had strict procedures in place for safeguarding children in its care, and that staff were subject to rigorous scrutiny. In this case no previous criminal activity was discovered and they had no reason to believe that this individual posed a threat to any child.
